Think BIGGER

Dear Self,

I get that your desire is to locate a second job for supplemental income. However, I need for you to think BIGGER. Maybe you’re not able to find the job you seek because it has yet to be created. Use this time to tap into your passion inorder to create a purposeful yet lucrative second income for yourself. Think bigger! Be bolder! And do NOT let money cloud your judgment. If you settle for less than you deserve, you’ll get even less than what you settled for. Hard was never easy and easy will never be hard. Hiya! So exercise your creative juices and believe that this to shall come. And so it freakin is! This is myTRUTHmyCLARITY.

Fishbowl

Hey fellow writers! I always wonder how many people actually read these posts? Then I wonder why I do I actually care? I mean my purpose for writing is for me to reflect on my truth my clarity. If my journey inspires others …. great! If not… eh… it is what it is. No shade…. wink.

Sorry folks, today’s a funky kind of day. Heck I’m just tired and it’s myTRUTHmyCLARITY. Lol. I’ve found myself trying to keep busy in order to avoid the present matters at hand. Sigh…. I’m tired just thinking about it. I keep hearing ‘one day at a time’ but these days are wearing me out! Lol. It’s interesting because I feel this need to ‘keep swimming’ 🏊 but lately I’m feeling more compelled to simply float. I’m doing all this swimming and haven’t a clue which direction I should even be headed in. Round and round I go wondering why I’m chasing my tail. The other day it dawned on me to actually stop swimming and come up for some damn air. Like literally take my head up out of the water! Well damn! Didn’t realize I was actually swimming/exhibiting in a fishbowl of emotions which speaks to why I’ve been suffocating.

I’m tired friends….and just feel this need to float calmly in the ripples of my emotions. As I lay on my back and look up out of the fishbowl I wonder what’s out there? How do I get myself out of this bowl of emotions. My desire to change goes beyond buying a filter and changing the water. I want more than this bowl…I want to be able to leap out of this bowl and float through the winds of possibility. I want to feel free of all the pain and sorrow. I lay here floating….. feeling to tired to swim. It’s so hard to just be still but know I must if ever I am to restore my fire 🔥 to persevere. I float freely……just being with self and having faith that one day I’ll be restored enough to take the leap of LIFE out of the bowl and into the unknown. This is myTRUTHmyCLARITY. And so it is….I FLOAT. :0)

HOW….to feel GREAT every single day!

image

Eight ways to tap into the power of intention and feel great every day:

1) Make meditation a regular practice in your life. You need to take time to get quiet, to go within, and from this silence make conscious contact with the source of intention. You’re already connected to everything that you perceive as missing from your life; go with a realign.

2) Become conscious of the foods you eat. Foods high in alkalinity such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, soy, nonyeast breads and virgin olive oil are high-energy foods and will strengthen you, while highly acidic foods such as flour-based cereals, meats, dairy and sugars lower energy and will weaken you.

3) Retreat from low-energy substance. Alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine, sugar and virtually all artificial drugs, legal or otherwise, lower your body’s energy level and weaken you.

4) Become aware of the energy level of the music you listen to. Some rap music—filled with profanity and messages about killing, for example—is an energy drain, while music that has a more soothing impact on the soul has been proven to be beneficial.

5) Become aware of the energy levels of your home environment. Make your home a nurturing, cheerful and peaceful environment.

6) Reduce your exposure to low-energy commercial television. Children see 12,000 simulated murders on TV before their 14th birthday! Television news puts a heavy emphasis on the bad and the ugly, leaving out the good.

7) Enhance your energy field with photographs. Every photograph contains energy. Carry and display photos taken in moments of happiness, love and receptivity.

8) Become conscious of the energy levels of your acquaintances, friends and extended family. Choose to be in close proximity to those who are empowering, who see the greatness in you, who feel connected to spirit.

One WORLD One COMMUNITY

image

I believe that I am a child of source, energy, being, god, universe and all the above. I prefer not naming IT because I believe whatever IT is….is indescribable. There are no words (in my opinion) to describe the force that has created all that we know and beyond. Take a moment to think about the BEYOND and what that entails. Think about the planet on which we live and the solar system in which we share with other neighboring planets. Okay, now think BEYOND our solar system. I’m talking about the infinite space that exists outside of the atmosphere and makes up the universe. Can you imagine it? Heck…I can’t!

This is why I believe I am not THIS body, I am not what I have, and I most certainly am not what people think of me. I am an energy, spirit, source….whatever you want to call IT that resides within this temple (my body).

My temples feet are flat.
My temples head of hair refuses to grow back around the forehead area.
My temple has black skin.
My temple is six feet tall.
My temple has brown eyes, black hair and a unibrow! Lol

I am sure you get the picture. I say this because as I get older….I find myself becoming more and more disconnected to the THINGS and STUFF around me. Living in a remote space has afforded me lots of time to get in touch with my source and I often think about what happens when we pass on. A close friend of mine recently lost his younger sister and it was such a huge shock and reality check. It was the first time I really began to question the validity of my belief system. Naturally, I began thinking about my loved ones and the thought of losing any friend or family member would seemingly shatter my world.

However, this is where having a faith in something greater than you becomes so important. I’ve never been able to identify with any specific religion….but I do believe we all speak to, listen to, and follow the SAME source. We just all have different names for it and take different pathways to develop and maintain a relationship with our source.

I say all of this because living overseas…particularly in the Middle East keeps me abreast of international affairs. I am so taken aback by all of the violence that surrounds me. Folks….people are losing their lives. And I feel as a global community we are becoming desensitized as it refers to the loss of life. Call me crazy….but we are one community of people living together on a planet called Earth. With the array on conflicts happening around the world, I’m just very disappointed by it all.

I don’t want to be around on the day that something outside of our planet poses a threat to what we know as human life. But I will say this……it would probably take something of that magnitude for all of us to come together as ONE Global Community. Why can’t we all just get along?

We are all here for a purpose greater than the EGO and the temple in which is resides. I challenge you to start living your best life. Start thinking beyond yourself…and GIVING, SERVING and LOVING. Our time here on earth is so short…so when you wake up every morning simply say, “Thank You”.

I leave you with this thought…..

“As you take your final breath on this physical earth…..will you have any regrets and what will be your legacy?”

This is myTRUTHmyCLARITY ;8)

Gratitude = Happiness

imageYou wake up at 5:00am to get ready for work. You take a moment and thank GOD for waking you up.

Then you flood your mind with positive thoughts to ensure a great day (thank you for my sound mind).

As you wipe the crust out of your eyes and yawn out loud, a sudden burst of energy compels you to hop out of bed (thank you for this bed).

You drag your feet to the bathroom in order to take a shower so that your physical body may now catch up to your current state of mind (thank you for my two feet).

You pass by the water heater so thankful that you remembered to turn it on last night. Hot shower here I come! As you run the water, you slip back into your room to play a little music to get the energy flowing (thank you for my iPad).

The nice warm shower is exactly what you needed because now you really feel ready for the day (thank you for this villa).

As you brush your teeth, you tap your feet to the rhythm of the music, you slip in your contacts and take a moment to look in the mirror and sincerely tell yourself, “I love you”. The reflection in the mirror smiles back at you (thank you for my teeth).

You walk out of the bathroom and in your peripheral you see the piece of paper posted on your wall that says, “as you think, so shall you be”. You smile to yourself (thank you for my awareness).

As you make your way down your hallway, you recognize how it has become a gallery of kindoras which are hanging comfortably, and waiting to be shown off. “Ah yes, the blue one today”. You slip it on over your white t-shirt and grey gym shorts. Finished! Yeah, you are dressed lol (thank you for this experience).

You slip back into your bedroom, turn off the music, grab a Guthra (head wrap), and head for the kitchen (thank you for this electricity).

You start thinking about how much you will dread the hour drive, and the moment you become aware of this thought you dismiss it. Instead, as you make a cup of tea, you immediately express gratitude. While waiting for the water to boil you think about how fortunate you are to catch the morning sunrise (breathtaking), how happy and eager your students are to see you, and your ability to even get into the car and drive yourself to work. As the water boils, you suddenly snap out of your brief moment of gratitude. You prepare your cup of tea, take a sip, and the hot water karate chops your top lip! “Damn, it’s so hot!” Lol…(thank you for my senses).

You check the time (5:45am), grab your keys, lunch, tea, work bag and head out the door (thank you for having a job).

You step into the silent hallway, and head towards the elevator. Ding! You step into the elevator and can’t believe an emirate is standing in the elevator wearing the exact same kindora and guthra. You smile, he smiles back. You nod your head, he nods back. You move into the elevator and he steps closer to you. You give him the side eye, and he side eyes you back. You turn your head towards him, and he turns his head towards you. You give him the, “Is there a problem look?” He gives it right back at you. You reach out to push ground floor as he reaches out to push ground floor.

As the elevator makes its way down to the ground floor and the doors open you look back over your shoulder into the mirror and smile at yourself (thank you for my sense of humor).

You part ways with your emirate image and walk outside into the cool, comfortable weather. You lift your arms high above your head expressing your gratitude, for experiencing another morning routine and beautiful day.

You head towards the shiny blue car that waits to take you safely to work (thank you for my car).

You start your car and prepare to have a fantastic day!

As I think….so shall I be!

Consider these thoughts organized! :9)

The ACADEMY in my HEAD

imageGlobal awareness is an essential element that I would like to be a part of my proposed academy. I believe awareness sparks profound curiosity which is a beautiful thing that will afford our scholars the opportunity to explore, inquire, learn and experience the many wonders of the world. As global citizens, we have an obligation to continuously step outside of our comfort zones in order to evolve and expand our thinking. This is when learning truly begins!

Another essential element I would want integrated into my school is a HOLISTIC APPROACH to teaching and learning. Any child that walks through the front door or sneaks thorough the back door, will be embraced whole heartedly. There will be an academic, social, and emotional component all of which will EQUALLY be addressed. Each of these components will be infused into a rigorous and meaningful curriculum. The social and emotional piece will be targeted through advisory sessions, community meetings, mentor programs, counseling services, ECT. Scholars will also be taught how to get aligned with SELF and become more compassionate beings in order to be productive citizens of the world. After school programs and service learning projects will branch off of all these components. Most importantly, a SAFE space will be fostered throughout the academy affording our scholars the opportunity to open up and reveal their truest self so that all of their individual needs will be addressed.

Meeting every scholar exactly where he is at will be an essential component of our academy. I believe in individualizing each scholars educational journey through differentiated instruction and assessments, goal setting, data talks, authentic relationships, and a student centered learning environment. Additionally, scholars will be an active participant in their educational journey. They will be expected to know their current performance levels, where they need to go, and what they need to do in order to exhibit success. More importantly, regular data talks and goal setting with their advisors will ensure they are able to articulate the steps needed to get there. Celebrating each and every success of our scholars will promote a collaborative approach among all the stakeholders of our school community. Additionally, the strong awareness of their abilities will ensure they leave our academy wanting to become productive leaders of the global world.

Please note that I continuously refer to the academy as OUR academy because I plan to foster a professional learning community. I believe that it takes a village, and every member of the team will play an integral part in the success of the academy and in the success of every scholar. Additionally, our students will be referred to as SCHOLARS due to their evolving love of learning. Lastly, our school is referred to as an ACADEMY because we will specialize in producing lifelong learners working to serve the needs of the global world.

I’d like to formally introduce you to the ACADEMY in my HEAD:

***GLOBAL VILLAGE ACADEMY***

Scholars on a purposeful journey serving the needs of others with compassion and love.

Simply Imagine!

That same young boy or girl returning to their local community, eyes wide open, and eager to celebrate the struggle……….now recognizing the time to struggle was in devine order.

Simply Imagine!

***Everyone deserves to have access and as I move through my journey the vision and mission of my learning community continues to unfold before my eyes!***
